Rach Turner- Landscape Artist

Turner’s art practice is about enjoying local scenes and imagining the world to be a little brighter than it sometimes is. She draws on the likes of legendary artists Fred Williams, Arthur Boyd, and Sydney Nolan’s images of the Australian landscape- infusing local scenes with unexpected colour and vibrancy.

Turner’s landscapes are about appreciation of the country she is blessed to live on. Being content in her place in the world & making the most in where she’s at in her life are key themes that appear in all of Turner’s work.

Rachel Turner studied Creative Industries, majoring in fine arts with the Queensland University of Technology and spent study time at the University of Melbourne. She participated in group and solo shows in Brisbane and Melbourne from 2002 - 2010, after which she took a hiatus from the art world, coming back to it all in 2020 to paint emotive and vibrant images of the stunning land surrounding Ballarat in regional Victoria, Australia.
